The pair enjoyed success together, which Cher continued as a solo artist, releasing memorable hits such as The Shoop Shoop Song and If I could Turn Back Time. However, it was in the late 1980s that the star reportedly contracted Epstein-Barr virus - a common infection spread through bodily fluids. From there, the Hollywood star's health deteriorated even further as she developed chronic fatigue syndrome and pneumonia. Although the star has rarely spoken about her chronic fatigue syndrome, it has been reported that she became too exhausted to continue with her music or film career, stopping for almost two years to recover. In a 2008 interview with USA today, Cher was reported saying: "I was sick for a long time. I went to Germany for some medicine and treatment. "They have things overseas we never dreamed existed. What We Know About the COVID-19 Risk for Kids with Asthma - Healthline

Image
People with well-controlled asthma aren't at greater risk for severe COVID-19 symptoms, but a new study suggests that children with poorly controlled asthma are more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19. Children whose asthma isn't well controlled are 3 to 6 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 than those without the condition. Over 63 percent of people over the age of 5 in the United States have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. While 70 percent of adults in the United States are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, it was only in October that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in children ages 5 to 11. And while experts are pushing for authorization for a wider use of the vaccines in children, new research shows that it may be critical to vaccinate kids who live with poorly controlled asthma. Though people with well-controlled asthma are not at greater risk for severe COVID-19 symptoms

Introduction Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a heterogeneous disease caused by chronic airway and systemic inflammation, accompanied by several comorbid conditions. 1,2 With the widespread use of chest computed tomography (CT), the reported detection rate of coexisting bronchiectasis (BE) varies between 15% and 69% in patients with moderate to severe COPD. 3–6 The coexistence of BE is an independent factor associated with poor prognosis in COPD in terms of acute exacerbation 3,7,8 and mortality. 3,9 However, some studies have reported no significant associations of BE with COPD exacerbations. 10,11 Representative symptoms of BE are chronic cough and sputum, which are also typical clinical presentations of chronic bronchitis (CB). Symptoms of CB are related to poorer health-related quality of life, 12–14 accelerated decline in lung function, 12,15–17 and increased mortality, 14,18,19 as well as greater number and severity of COPD exacerbations. 20 Addition
